In the heart of Michoacan, Mexico, there stood a modest little shop with a sign that simply read "Mr.Retroo's." Inside, the shelves were lined with consoles from decades past, their controllers worn from years of use and their screens reflecting the flickering glow of pixelated adventures.The man behind the counter, Francisco, known to all as Mr.Retroo, had a passion for gaming that ran deep. As a young boy I could not resist the excitement that Mr.Retroo's brought me. As my parents stopped me and insisted we left, Francisco picked me up from the ground, greeted my parents and let me use his most precious console, an Atari 2600. From this day on, Francisco and I became business partners. He fulfilled my retro satisfactions and I brought as many clients as possible each day after school. Francisco passed away on November 17th, 2023 and I never got to see him again ever since I permanently moved to the states. My grandfather attended his funeral and was one of the only people at his deathbed. To my surprise my grandfather gave me a message he had left behind. A small retro tape recorder that repeats the same message again and again. What is the message you wonder? "I may be gone kid but Mr.Retroo will always be with you."
